THE BROWN NOTE THEORY
The Brown Note Theory are a musical trio who utilize elements of roots, post – classic rock and electronica in their sound. Performing 100% live with no sequenced tracks, TBNT mix traditional guitar, bass, and drums with theremin, analog delays, and sampler to conjure up their own brand of sonic mayhem. The Brown Note Theory are from North QLD Australia. The Core members are Todd Macalpine (guitar, vocals, theremin, sampler), Jack Dunbar (bass, vocals) & after a search for drummers that would make Spinal Tap blush, TBNT found their Bonzo in mr Justin Stylianou on drums, percussion and vocals. Of course, the seedier elements of the sound engineering fraternity will have you believe that the brown note theory, or “disco dump” is a phenomenom whereupon if you play certain notes at sufficiently extreme volume, you may cause the listener to lose bowel control. TBNT to Play Panda Room HUMBUG Xmas gig.
TBNT will be hitting the Panda room stage around 9pm at the Panda room HUMBUG gig. Tis the season to be heathen on the 10th of December when Pandamonium Records presents HUMBUG, the Pandamonium Room Xmas Party. The Panda room doors blast open at 5pm with 8 great local original bands. Pandamonium Records and the Cape York Hotel are paying for sound and lighting and it will be donation entry with all door takings going directly to bands (please support them!). If this works, Pandamonium are considering running more Panda room gigs like this. The Lineup is:- Harbinger (new prog metal band), Solemn Prophets, Enemies Closer, Almost A Square, Tweak N Vital, The Brown Note Theory, Basement Grits, Jobstopper + special guest appearances. Fresh TBNT Youtubage
Seems the shutterbugs were out and about at our last gig at the Panda room on the 10th Sept. There’s a bunch of Youtube footage taken by people in the audience posted on the net.
